DESIGN INTENTION:
Prototype for a series of DVD’s presenting the history and significance of venerable African American organizations and institutions.
Audience for BLS ranges from middle school students and teachers to scholars and those associated with the subject organizations.
The immersive 3D environment is the interface to access and explore the archive of photos, films,text and print documents, and video/audio oral histories.
The immersive interactive environment, the scope of the embedded archival material, and the different modes for accessing the archive give the BLS utility for a range of education and community purposes.

The Time Line is an integral component of the environment, providing the historical context for understanding the significance of the organization’s place in the 20th century. Time Line movies and documents are embedded throughout the environment.
